TYPICAL DUTIES:
Working on compilations, reviews, and audits for government contractors and service industries.
Reconciling bank, payroll and other complex accounts
Clearly and accurately documenting the execution of specific engagement procedures, tax workpapers and client communications in a paperless environment
Basic analysis of financial statements based on trends or past client engagement history to identify unusual relationships.
Establishing strong rapport with client personnel, being responsive to client needs and staying abreast of business developments relevant to clients.
Using effective questioning and listening to become an invaluable resource for clients in regards to GAAP, tax, and Federal Acquisition Regulations.
Collaborating with team members to accomplish firm goals, contributing ideas and opinions to team meetings, and respecting team member views.
Looking for potential opportunities for additional services and process improvements
Effectively managing assigned projects to deliver qulatiy service on time and within budget
Assisting clients with QuickBooks data entry and usage problems
Minimum Education
Bachelors degree from a U.S. institution or currently in senior year
24 credits of accounting courses
Minimum Experience Required:
2 years full-cycle bookkeeping experience OR 1 year accounting firm experience performing compilations
1 year experience with QuickBooks including AP, AR, and creating reports in a work environment
1 year preparing basic accrual basis financial statements
1 year reconciling and analyzing general ledger accounts and resolving problems
1 year experience preparing payroll and resolving complex payroll reconciliation problems
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Intermediate to Expert level MS Office user, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Ability to multitask under deadlines and handle multiple clients
Working knowledge of GAAP
Ability to research, read, analyze and interpret rules and regulations
Excellent written and verbal communicaation skills (English)
Can effectively present detailed financial information, respond to questions, write/explain recommendations for improvements in clear and concise terms
Computer savvy and extremely proficient in a paperless environments (zero paper)
Strong dedication to teamwork
Prior experience with Deltek, audit software, UltraTax, government contracting, accrual-to-cash conversions and auditing is highly desirable, but not required
