Semi-Senior Associate
 

We are looking for a high energy, multi-tasking individual to add to our diverse staff. We are a small growing CPA firm providing accounting and consulting services to small businesses in service industries and government contracting. The ideal candidate demonstrates drive, vision and determination and is passionate and excited about having an opportunity to work on a variety of tasks and contribute ideas. This is a position for a "career-minded" accountant who wants to become a CPA. We provide a work environment that is informal and inclusive. TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Performs compilation and review services for intermediate complexity clients
  • Provides tax planning services to clients
  • Performs basic audit procedures including reviewing pre-audit documentation, fieldwork procedures, audit testing internal control
  • Reconciling complex accounts such as payroll liabilities and loans
  • Participates in audit risk assessments and accompanies on client visits.
  • Assisting with QuickBooks troubleshooting and transaction entry
  • Converting accrual basis financials to cash basis for tax reporting
  • Preparing corporate, pass-through entity and personal tax returns
  • Performing financial analysis

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • Masters degree in accounting/financial management or meets 150-credits for CPA license, or
  • Enrolled in a post-graduate program and working toward CPA certification 

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 
    • Three (3) or more years of professional accounting experience
    • Professionalism, good work ethics, and analytical skills
    • Develops a good basic business sense by researching market trends and business developments and understands their relevance to clients.
    • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
    • Intermediate-level proficiency in Excel 2003 or 2007

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Intermediate to Expert level MS Office user, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
    • Ability to multi-task under deadlines and handle multiple clients
    • Working knowledge of GAAP Ability to research, read, analyze and interpret rules and regulations
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
    • Can effectively present detailed financial information, respond to questions, write/explain recommendations for improvements in clear and concise terms
    • Computer savvy and extremely proficient in a paperless environments (zero paper)
    • Strong dedication to teamwork
