Cheryl Jefferson Cooke started the firm in 2003 on a part-time basis from her home. From the start, the core client base was small businesses in services industries and government contracting. In 2004, the client base had grown to the point where it was no longer a part-time venture, but a full-time business.
The first employee was hired in 2004. By the end of 2006, the firm had outgrown the home office and moved to a 1,000 square foot office on 8950 Route 108. By the end of 2007, the staff had grown to include 4 full-time and 1 part-time professional staff.
In 2008, Cheryl Jefferson & Associates expanded its offices to 2,000 square feet. Currently, the firm has 5 professional staff and 2 administrative staff.
