Accountant/Auditor – all levels

(Full-Time or Part-Time, during normal work hours of Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm)


Description


We are accepting resumes for all levels of accounting staff from entry-level to management.  Candidates with no prior employment with a public accounting firm or a government contractor will be considered as ENTRY-LEVEL.   Our peak times are quarterly.  Personal tax return preparation is limited to owners/shareholders of existing clients.  We don’t accept walk-ins or tax-only clients.

 

Typical duties that our staff performs include:

  • Compilations, reviews, and audits of small business financial statements
  • Preparing adequate workpapers in accordance with firm standards
  • Reconciling complex accounts such as payroll liabilities and loans
  • Providing assistance, guidance, and recommendations for improvements to small business clients who have never worked with an accounting firm before.
  • Assisting with QuickBooks troubleshooting and transaction entry
  • Converting accrual basis financials to cash basis for tax reporting
  • Preparing corporate, pass-through entity and personal tax returns
  • Assisting clients in preparing budgets, forward pricing proposals, and incurred cost submissions for government contracts
  • Assisting clients in setting up accounting systems in order to pass government contract compliance audits
  • Assisting clients with the interpretation and compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations
  • Performing financial analysis
  • Small business tax planning 

Some of the IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS we look for in candidates, but that are not necessarily mandatory for the position desired are:

 

If previous experience in a public accounting firm

  • Performed financial statement reviews and/or audits or supervised them
  • Worked with government contractors or service industries
  • Prepared corporate and pass-through entity tax returns
  • Converted accrual basis financials to cash or tax basis
  • Experienced in financial analysis and budgeting
  • Prepared adequate workpapers with minimal comments or reviewed workpapers of staff
  • Experienced latest versions of QuickBooks, write-up software, audit software, and tax software
  • Understands complex reporting issues such as deferred tax and stock-based compensation
  • Deciphered complex reconciliation problems
  • Is a CPA or meets requirements to sit for CPA exam
  • Has in-depth knowledge of GAAP, GAAS or IFRS
  • Has experience applying new risk assessments
  • Communicated reports of results, findings, improvements and recommendations both orally and written, on an executive-level  

If previous experience in corporate accounting

  • Prepared company financial statements for review and/or audit
  • Had previous employment with a government contractor
  • Reviewed or prepared corporate and pass-through entity tax returns
  • Prepared cash flow statements or budgets
  • Experienced with latest versions QuickBooks/DELTEK
  • Understands complex reporting issues such as deferred tax and stock-based compensation
  • Resolved complex reconciliation problems
  • Utilized analytical and budgeting skills
  • Has in-depth knowledge of GAAP, FAR, and DCAA requirements 
  • Provided reports of results, findings, improvements and recommendations both orally and written, to executives

Mandatory Minimum Requirements for all candidates


  • Bachelors degree or higher in accounting or financial management
  • Three (3) solid professional references to validate accounting experience
  • Professionalism, good work ethics, and analytical skills
  • Motivation as a team player with a focus on a career in accounting
  • Ability to research and document findings/conclusions
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  •  Intermediate-level proficiency in Excel 2003 or 2007
